Weather Skypia is a weather site with no accounts and no tracking scripts. This page states, without qualifications, which data is used, where it is stored, and how long it lives.
Location. Coordinates are used to fetch the weather for the place you asked for, and are sent to the weather provider that answers the request. The site's shared cache stores the result under a key rounded to two decimal places — about 1.1 km — so visitors near each other reuse one upstream call. No location history is kept.
Bookmarks, search history and preferences. Saved places, recent searches, your temperature unit, sound and contrast settings live in your browser's own storage. They are never uploaded, and clearing site data removes them.
Notification permission. Stored locally by your browser. Weather alerts are computed in your browser from the reading on screen — no server decides whether to alert you, and nothing is sent anywhere to deliver one.
Contact messages. If you use the contact form, the name, email address and message you submit are relayed to the operator's inbox through a mail service so the message can be answered. They are not written to this site's database.
No IP addresses are stored. Request throttling uses counters that live in memory and disappear with the server instance, so there is no IP log to leak or surrender.
No analytics by default. This site loads no third-party analytics and sets no cookies. If the operator configures an optional first-party web-vitals endpoint, the browser sends anonymous performance and error reports to it; with the endpoint unset, nothing is sent at all.
There is one server-side exception to "we store nothing": the shared cache entry described above, keyed by your coordinates rounded to about 1.1 km, holding the weather for that square. It exists so that a hundred people asking about the same city cost one API call rather than a hundred. Weather entries expire within 12 minutes (current conditions) or 60 minutes (forecasts), and place-name lookups within 7 days; after that they are deleted.
Every request is served over HTTPS and goes only to this site's own origin. The site stores no accounts, no passwords, no payment details, and no IP addresses.
Weather data comes from Open-Meteo, with MET Norway, the US National Weather Service, DWD Bright Sky (Germany), Environment Canada and the Australian Bureau of Meteorology as regional fallbacks; place lookups use Open-Meteo geocoding and Photon. Each provider receives only the coordinates or search text needed to answer the request and has its own privacy policy. Optional, and only when the operator configures keys for them, additional providers (OpenWeatherMap, Visual Crossing, Pirate Weather) may answer through this site's edge API. If the site is ever run with advertising enabled, Google AdSense would be the one advertising script — it is absent otherwise. We do not sell data to anyone.
This site sets no cookies. It does use your browser's local storage for your preferences, saved places, recent searches and cached weather. You can clear all of it through your browser settings at any time.
The service is not directed to children under 13, and there are no accounts or profiles to create. No personal information is knowingly collected from children.
Changes are posted on this page with a new revision date. Because the policy describes the code, the date changes when the behaviour does.
